Things to do in Grand Rapids

You can re-visit our venue during open hours- there is plenty to see and do there, as it is one of the top Michigan attractions.
Hours of Operation: Friday and Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday noon-5pm

Visit Downtown Grand Rapids: www.downtowngr.org
Downtown there are many great restaurants and shops located within a few square blocks.

Grand Rapids Childrens Museum: www.grcm.org
Very fun for kids, right on the river in the downtown area.
Friday and Saturday 9:30am-5pm, Sunday noon-5pm
Admission is $5 a person.

Gerald R. Ford Museum of Grand Rapids: www.ford.utexas.edu/museum/aboutmus.asp
Admission is $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors, $5.00 for college students with ID, $3.00 for youth ages 6-18, and free for children under the age of 5. Free parking is available.

South Haven, MI is about 45 minutes towards the MI/IN border (for those of you visiting from Indiana or Illinois, it is on the way back home). It is a lake front town with plenty to see and do. There is a very nice beach and cute downtown, and many family friendly activities.

Hotel Info for out-of-towners

We have 2 hotel options blocked off for our out-of-town guests. The information is as follows:

Special rate of $89.00 a night will be available until around July 2nd

Hotel Option 2:
We also have a block of rooms reserved at Baymont Inn and Suites- which is about 6 miles from Meijer Gardens. The info for this hotel is as follows:

Special rate of $55.00 a night- must book by July 16th

Continental breakfast included
**Shuttle service to and from the hotel to the Gardens available for $10 extra ($65 total per night). Please notify the hotel if you want this option- be sure to get to the hotel earlier- shuttle will leave hotel around 5:30pm Eastern Time for Ceremony.

There are many other hotel options in Grand Rapids, most of which will be about 5-10 miles from our venue. We found these to be the best options for our guests- but feel free to check around!

Our Venue!

As a way of briefly introducing you to the place we will be beginning our lives together, here one picture of the gardens. We will have the whole building to ourselves that special evening, and you can find more information about the gardens at the links to the right.
There is also a link to the Grand Rapids visitor site for those unfamiliar with the city. It offers information on things to do, places to stay, and places to eat. However, much more information will be given about these things as we get closer to the wedding date.
